History of Duck Creek Bricks:
Reclaimed from the Duck Creek Brick Company in Duck Creek, Wisconsin, these bricks carry a rich history tied to the local area. After devastating fires in 1853 and 1871, bricks became a primary building material in the region due to their fire-resistant properties and the abundance of suitable clay. Originally handmade, early bricks were crafted using rudimentary methods until steam engines revolutionized production near the turn of the century. By the 1970s, the Duck Creek Brick Company, the last surviving brickyard in the area, was dismantled.
